I've always been driven by a simple, nagging question: "Exactly how does that work?"
I am the Founder and Technical Product Manager of Definitive Calc™. By day, I am a Sr. Analyst of SEO Operations at JD Power, where I specialize in the systems that drive data and search. Outside of my professional role, I am a student of the logic and mechanics that govern the world around us.
The Financial Awakening
Growing up, I was taught a simple rule: just save your money. For a long time, I felt that investing was a closed-door system reserved for the wealthy or Wall Street insiders who understood all the complex jargon. Because of that intimidation, I didn't start actively investing until my early 30s.
While I feel like I am in a great position today, I often catch myself wishing someone had sat me down a decade earlier and told me the truth: basic investing is nowhere near as complicated as it seems. Once you look past the intimidating jargon, it is mostly just simple math. That specific realization is the driving force behind why I talk so much about personal finance, and how I ultimately became such a data-driven person. I build these calculators to be the transparent, accessible guide I wish I had when I was starting out.

While finance and real estate are major pillars here, my ambition is to build the absolute best-in-class tools for every category on this site. Whether I am navigating the financial details of homeownership or fine-tuning the technical requirements of a personal hobby, this philosophy of breaking complex problems down into pure, verifiable math hasn't just helped my wallet—it has fundamentally transformed my approach to my health, my daily habits, and my goals. It has made me a deeply measured person.
Ultimately, Definitive Calc™ is simply a creative outlet for my natural curiosity. It gives me a space to deconstruct how complex things actually work, and share that with anyone else asking the same questions.

You'll notice this site covers a huge range of fields—from real estate and finance to networking and construction. I want to be 100% upfront: I don't know everything, and I don't have first-hand practical experience in every industry featured here.
